Why study at Cornell?
- Regional focus specifically designed to meet the shortage of vineyard managers and winemakers in New York and cool-climate areas worldwide.
- Flexibility to focus in two concentrations, and to add electives from the Department of Applied Economics and Management, the School of Hotel Administration, and other Cornell units.
- Cornell is the Ivy League ag school. We grow the ivy - or in this case the vines - and make the wine as well. Our faculty are world class.
- In addition, the program draws on the resources of Cornell's Geneva Campus at the New York State Agriculture Experiment Station. The Station includes the USDA-ARS germplasm repository for cool-climate grapes and Cornell's state-of-the-art vinification and brewing technology laboratory.
- Hands-on teaching vineyards in and around the Ithaca and Geneva campuses.
- In New York State alone, more than 220 wineries and 600 vineyards are enthusiastic about working with students and hosting interns.
- Cornell has world-renowned enology and viticulture research programs. Faculty with active research programs teach the courses.
